Due to limited registration numbers in certain divisions for the 2017-18 Female Regional A tryouts,
VIAHA is extending the registration deadline for Peewee South, Bantam North & South, along with
Midget North & South to July 30th, 2017.

At this time, due to low registration numbers, VIAHA will not be hosting a Peewee A North team.
Should any Peewee North players wish to attend tryouts in the South, please contact the VIAHA
office.

Recently our Referee In Chief, John Sloan, was honored by VIAHA as Volunteer of the Year.

Congratulations John!

Dr. Shelina Babul at the University of British Columbia, in partnership with BC Hockey, is evaluating the concussion educational training mandated by BC Hockey last year. BC Hockey announced in June, 2016, at their AGM held in Sun Peaks, BC, that all BC Hockey on-ice team officials are required to complete the Concussion Awareness Training Tool (CATT) prior to their participation in any practice or games starting the 2016–2017 hockey season.

We are requesting that any individuals who have completed this concussion training complete a short online questionnaire with a time commitment of approximately 5-10 minutes.

All participants who qualify and complete the questionnaire will be entered into a draw for an Apple Watch, as well as items from BC Hockey.

All responses will be anonymous. Your email address will be kept confidential and used only to enter you in the prize draw.

Please follow the link below to complete the questionnaire: Evaluation of BC Hockey Mandated Concussion Training.

If you have any questions about this study, or require further information, please contact the project coordinator Kate Turcotte at kturcotte@bcchr.ca

Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Your feedback will allow us to improve concussion education and awareness in British Columbia.
