Hello OMHA families!

We are excited to announce that The ESSO Fun Days Female Hockey Program will be running again this year for ​birth years 2014-2006​!!!

Nanaimo Minor Hockey would like to welcome new OMHA female players to join us for our free Esso Days program! The goal in supporting programs such as this is to drive female hockey interest in the community; therefore we ask that if you have a sister, relative, neighbour or friend you think may be interested in trying hockey, please spread the word. This program is a great opportunity for females to try the sport with other females in a relaxed environment where the #1 focus will be to have FUN!

Program will consist of 6 sessions

★ MAY 26
★ JUNE 2
★ JUNE 9
★ JUNE 16

All players must be registered prior to ensure they are covered by our Hockey Canada insurance. Any players not registered prior to the start of the program start-up will not be covered and will not be permitted on the ice.​ Also, ​full hockey gear required.

Oceanside Minor Hockey will be holding their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at the Quality Resort Bayside (240 Dogwood Street, Parksville).

Doors will open at 7:00pm for registration with the meeting beginning at 7:30pm.

There are a number of executive positions that will be up for election or re-election.

These positions are for a 2 year team:

1st Vice President
Treasurer
Risk Manager
Coach Coordinator
Recreational Coordinator
Tournament/Jamboree Coordinator
Sponsorship Coordinator
Development Coordinator
These positions are vacant so will be elected for a 1 year term:

Cross Ice Coordinator
Equipment Coordinator
Competitive Coordinator
As at previous AGMs, we will drawing for door prizes at the end of the meeting (you must be present to win):

1st prize – full registration paid
2nd prize – half registration paid
3rd prize – half registration paid
A Resolution has been posted to the website, and executive year-end reports will also be posted as they become available.

We know that there are many amazing volunteers in BC and the Yukon who work hard everyday to ensure hockey happens and kids are having fun. BC Hockey wants to recognize those people at the 2019 BC Hockey Awards Banquet, Saturday, June 8, 2019 in Sun Peaks, BC.

There are numerous awards available, including the new Indigenous Impact and Legacy Award, which will be presented for the first time this June.
