2022 VIAHA AWARD NOMINATIONS

Posted by Oceanside MHA at Feb 9, 2022 1:19PM PST ( 0 Comments )

With the 2021-2022 hockey season coming to an end, it is time to acknowledge all the good word that has been done by individuals, teams and associations. VIAHA encourages you to review the award criteria within the attached bulletin and submit your nomination for a deserving candidate(s). Nominations should be in writing with all relevant information and documentation.

VIAHA is accepting nominations for the following awards.
Minor Hockey Association of the Year Banner
Coach of the Year
VIAHA President’s Award
Volunteer of the Year Award
Official of the Year Award
Most Deserving Official of the Year Award
Youth Volunteer of the Year Award

Deadline for nominations is March 31, 2022. All submissions will be directed to Charlotte Johnson at cjohnson@viaha.org

The document 2022_VIAHA_Award_Nominations.pdf was attached to this post.

Please note the following information that we have received from viaSport.
1) PROOF OF VACCINE FOR 12 YEAR VOLUNTEERS: In the order on Gatherings and Events, the PHO has amended the definition of “vaccinated” to include an accommodation for those 12 year olds who have only received one dose. This allows those youth who aren’t yet eligible for their second dose to participate and/or spectate as long as they can show proof of one dose. The viaSport chart and FAQ now reflect these updates.

2) Participants not feeling well: It is requested that we all amplify the message that people should be staying home if they are not feeling well or have any symptoms of COVID-19. This reminder is key to keeping our sport environments safe, especially now that the isolation period has been shortened for vaccinated people.

Should you have any questions, please contact BC Hockey.
