Are you interested in coaching minor hockey this season?

OMHA is looking for recreational and competitive coaches for the 2020/21 season.

We are accepting coaching applications for both recreational and competitive teams from U7 (Initiation) to U18 (Midget). Complete the application form by going to the OMHA website at oceansidehockey.com under Forms – Coach’s Application.

Competitive coaches must have applications in by July 31, 2020, so please get your applications in as soon as possible if you are interested in coaching this season.

At our Annual General Meeting last night, we honored some deserving hockey players and an executive member.
Steven Callewaert (Midget T2 Generals) won the award for Leadership and Regan Sanderson (Female Midget Icebreakers) won the Merit award. These are awarded every year to deserving graduating Midget players.
Also honored was the OMHA Treasurer, Kristine Harvey, for all her hard work this past season.

We also want to congratulate Sean Brendeland, Matthew Chand and Regan Sanderson on being awarded a Jeff Nabseth Scholarship.

There were also a few changes in executive members. We welcome Kristin Hendriks, Dylan Martini, Amy Murphy, and Janice Stewart, who stepped up to take on an executive position. Thank you ladies and Dylan.

Oceanside Minor Hockey will be holding their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the Quality Resort Bayside (240 Dogwood Street, Parksville).

Doors will open at 7:00pm for registration with the meeting beginning at 7:30pm.

There are a number of executive positions that will be up for election at that time. These positions are for a 2 year term and are:

President
2nd Vice President
Secretary/Registrar
Referee in Chief
Cross Ice Coordinator
Female Coordinator
Equipment Coordinator
Competitive Coordinator

As at previous AGMs, we will be drawing for door prizes at the end of the meeting (you must be present to win):
1st prize – full registration paid
2nd prize – half registration paid
3rd prize – half registration paid

Executive year end reports will be posted to the webside (under OMHA INFO tab) as they become available.

Typically at this time of year, we would be announcing our Annual AGM date. Our AGM is an important meeting for all members as we honour outstanding players and volunteers, vote on policy changes, and elect our board. Due to COVID-19 restrictions on meetings and gatherings, we must postpone indefinitely at this time. An online alternative is likely. Details will be advised ASAP.
