Posted by Oceanside MHA on Sep 01 2015 at 08:19PM PDT

Welcome to the 2015 – 2016 season!

At long last, it is finally here! the 2015- 2016 season is upon us – tryouts are underway and exhibition games will be starting shortly. Our Officiating clinic will be held Monday 21 September at Oceanside Place. Sign in will begin at 4:00 pm and the clinic will start at 5:00 pm and go until 9:00 pm. The ice session will be from 9:15 pm – 10:15 pm. All new and second year officials must attend the ice session, so ensure that you have your skates, helmet and whistle. For new officials, do not purchase a whistle or jersey at this time, as the executive is looking at options to defray the costs to new officials. I will have more information on this shortly.

You will receive a certificate at the end, and you MUST bring this with you to the clinic.

- The Hockey University Officiating 1/2 course registration can be found via the following link and has a cost of $19.00. Please be aware that the HU registration fee is non-refundable.

I would like to welcome Shayna Twamley as the person to oversee the total Mentorship Program this season. Shayna has been with the Mentorship Program for a number of years, and her knowledge and experience will be beneficial to all of our new and returning officials. Shayna will also be our Female Liaison, the person that all of our female or male officials can go to if they feel there is an issue or problem. We will not tolerate inappropriate comments, behavior or conduct, and if it should occur, it will be dealt with swiftly.

We welcome back our Mentors who will be working with Shayna: Anthony Commentucci, Katy Downey, and Nolan O’Hara. Joe Kinch will also be working with me on Supervisions.

All contacts for information and assigning will go through me at ric@oceansidehockey.com . I want to thank Vicki for her excellent work under trying conditions last season as the assignor. Because we do not know what to expect this season, I will be handling the assigning duties this season.

If have any questions or concerns, please feel to contact me at ric@oceansidehockey.com

Thank you
