Parents, have you been spending Summer days shopping for hockey gear? Here is an important reminder regarding neck guards.
Hockey Canada Rule 3.6 (f) states, “The wearing of a BNQ approved throat protector is compulsory for players registered in minor and female hockey.” On all major brands of equipment, the BNQ logo is clearly visible on the front or side of the neck guard. If there is no logo, the neck guard is not acceptable.
Please be mindful of this rule when considering purchasing integrated hockey neck tops, i.e. shirts with built in throat protection. If you have questions about appropriate gear for your child, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
