With Deepest Regret

Posted by Oceanside MHA at Jul 15, 2016 6:32AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

July 14th, 2016

It is with sadness that we write to inform you that we have lost one of our association’s finest. Joseph Gerard Kinch (aka Big Joe) passed away on Saturday, July 9th after a brief battle with cancer. He was 61 years of age.

As some of you will know, Joe has been involved with OMHA since 2003 as one of our senior officials. Not only has he been instrumental in the development of our young on ice officials over the past 13 years, he has also been an inspiration and role model for many of our sons and daughters.

To honor and pay tribute to Joe, all of our on ice officials will be having “JK” memorial crests sewn onto their jerseys for the 2016/17 season.
Should any of our players wish to honor and pay tribute to Joe as well, they will be provided with a “JK” memorial sticker that can be worn on their helmet. These will be made available to all of our players when signing in for the upcoming season.

We offer our sincerest condolences to Joe’s family and friends and those of our members who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Sincerely,

Andrew W. Copley, President
Oceanside Minor Hockey Association
